photon-atom entanglement

I thought this paper was really interesting, but I’d love to know exactly what they meant about ‘loophole’ free Bell’s inequality experiments. Is there a loophole left open these days? Is someone hiding a hidden-variable theory somewhere in a quantum-info group?

The best thing about Sympathy for the Devil was probably the Richard Kern photographs. They had a beautiful (maybe 4×3′) print of this sonic youth lp.

Though I didn’t bring a notebook or a camera, so there is probably something I’m forgetting.
